Alumina Red Mud

 

High-ferro alumina-containing material mainly includes high-ferro Bayer-process red mud and high-ferro bauxite, therein high-ferro Bayer-process red mud refers to solid waste from using Bayer-process to extracting alumina from high-ferro diasporic bauxite, high-ferro gibbsite bauxite or high-ferro gibbsite-boehmite mixed type bauxite, its major components are SiO2, CaO, Fe2O3, Al2O3, TiO2, Na2O and K2O, etc.

1.Applicative Technology: Rotary Hearth Furnace Technology

Use the technology of carbon-containing pellet-rotary hearth furnace to process alumina red mud, the ferric material in pellet is rapidly reduced and melted in condition of high temperature, realize the separation of iron and other component ( slag ), final product is granular iron. In slag, the grade of alumina is much higher than alumina red mud, maybe alumina can be extracted from the slag further.
Sodium Oxide goes into exhaust smoke and is recycled by bag collector.
Final tailings may be made into baking-free bricks or be cement clinker as building materials.
